GULF BIKE EXPO 2009. The 09 Review ...

Gulf Bike Expo 2009 was an opportunity for over 19,000 bike and non bike enthusiasts to enjoy a comprehensive range of products and merchandise including; Cruisers, Street Bikes, Off Road Bikes, Custom Bikes, Tuning & Accessories, Custom Parts, Helmets & Clothing. Daily live bike entertainment included electrifying displays at the Red Bull FMX arena by FMX World Champion Nick de Wit and The Frog with their spectacular freestyle airborne jumps. Rome & Randie and E-Dub the Scorpion stunt team from the USA maneuvered some jaw-dropping stunts to the cheering crowd. Visitors also had the chance to admire the work of master bike builders with modified and customized bikes and well as many on-site competitions.

The outdoor Piazza area was built to compliment the festival with musical performances by the best of local musical talents - artists included:
Juliana Down, Abri, Lumi, The Meerkats, Paul Akiki and Jonas Desai . The legendary rock band, Deep Purple received over 8,000 fans to the concert as they took stage on day two of the festival.

The highlight of the show was Gulf Bike Expo 2009 first charity ride
“Wheels for Autism”. Congregated early on Friday morning at Dubai Festival City, over 800 bikers came together in unity to support local charity, Dubai Autism Centre. Escorted by RTA and Dubai Police, the bikes cruised over 74 kilometers around Dubai to support the cause.

Dubai Bike Week was created in 2005 as a Harley Davidson Rally, attracting riders from right across the GCC - specifically reaching out to owners of this unique bike, its mythology and its riding experience. Whilst the Dubai Bike Week brand lives on and is the annual gathering for Harley riders, its marriage to Gulf Bike Expo ensured that a truly international platform was created for all manufacturers and all riders to experience a bike festival here in the Middle East. The association with Gulf Bike Expo ensures that we as a biking community continue to develop as one community, driving awareness and respect whilst on our roads and within our cities and ensuring that road safety and thought goes towards all riders regardless of make, model color or creed.
